We do offer an appraisal course, but this is only to help you obtain appraisal knowledge as a real estate agent. We do not have a course package that will qualify you to apply for your appraiser License.

We offer the education requirements needed to apply for the Broker's License Exam. As a property manager, you must have your Broker's License unless you are the property owner or work for a property management company. We do not offer the required education to receive your property manager certification in California.

US Realty Training provides our own accredited real estate courses for California. This includes salesperson and broker license courses. The courses we offer meet state requirements and will prepare you for the state exam. If you purchase one of our pre-licensing packages (i.e. Live + Online, Online + Videos, or Only Only Package) you will also receive access to our online state exam prep. This is a great resource to utilize when studying for the state exam. It includes over 1,500 questions that you can breakdown by category, 1,500 flashcards, and tips & tricks on taking the exam.

To pass your chapter quizzes and final course exams, you will need to achieve 60% or higher.

What should I do if my salesperson license expired and I did not complete my continuing education courses?

You have two years from the time your license expires to complete the continuing education courses, but you can't conduct any real estate activities during this time. If it's been longer than two years, we recommend contacting the Department of Real Estate (DRE) at (877) 373-4542. What is the department of real estate (DRE) elicensing portal and how do I access it?

The Department of Real Estate (DRE) eLicensing portal is an online system that you will have access to once you are approved to take the state exam. You will receive a link via email to login. From there, you can schedule your exam date, update your contact information, and receive your license once you pass the state exam. This is also the system you will use when you renew your license every four years.

What is the difference between a salesperson and a broker?

What and how much is a live scan and where can I get it done?

A live scan is an electronic scan of your finger prints for a background check. The cost for a live scan varies from $60-$80 depending on where you go. Some police stations and UPS locations offer this service. You can also use Google or your preferred search engine to find a live scan provider near you.

What is the cost of real estate school?

What forms do I need to fill out my application?

In order to apply for the state exam, you must fill out and submit ONE of the following forms: Form RE 435 (Exam & License Combination) or Form RE 400 (Exam only). If you would like to pay for the exam & license fees using a credit card, you must fill out Form RE 909. Form RE 237 Live Scan Service Request Form will also need to be included. In addition to the necessary forms, you will need to include a copy of your course certificates. What if I fail the state exam?

If you fail the state exam, you can apply to retake it the next day, based on test date availability. You will have to pay the $60 exam fee again, but you do not need to mail in another exam application.

If I miss a live training session, will the required hours still count?

If you are unable to attend a live training session, you will still meet the required set of hours. In-class training is purely supplemental. Therefore, your attendance is not mandatory and you will not be penalized. Your hours and requirements mandated by the Department of Real Estate (DRE) are met by completing your online coursework. If you would like to make-up for a missed training session, we recommend purchasing the $5 chapter videos in your student portal.

The state exam features 7 different categories which are covered within all courses that we offer. While there are no requirements to get enrolled in our program, you must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal right to work and reside in the United States when applying for the state exam. For more information, click here.

What content is covered on the California salesperson exam? What percentage do I need to pass?

To pass the state exam, you must obtain a 70% or higher.

There are seven categories featured on the state exam:

Area 1: Contracts (approximately 12% of salesperson exam)
Area 2: Financing (approximately 9% of salesperson exam)
Area 3: Laws of Agency and Fiduciary Duties (approximately 17% of salesperson exam)

Hardcopy textbooks take approximately five to seven business days to be delivered.

If I fail the course exam, can I retake it?

If you fail the course exam once, you can retake it immediately. However, the questions will be different. If you fail the course exam a second time, you will have to retake the course. This means you need to wait 18 days and retake all of your chapter quizzes for that course before you can retake the final exam.

I want to get my real estate license. What are the requirements?

Mandated by the Department of Real Estate (DRE), you must complete three courses (Real Estate Practice, Real Estate Principles, and one elective of your choice) before you can apply for the state exam. Once you receive your course certificates, you will mail the certificates along with your application and live scan form to the DRE to process and approve. Once you are approved, you will schedule your exam date and take your state exam. For more information check out our blog post and youtube video!

I saw on the website that 18 days are required per course. Does that mean I have to complete each course in 18 days?

We require students to wait 18 days from their original start date on a course before they can take the final course exam. By requiring this for all three courses, students are able to meet the 135 hour requirement set by the DRE. Aside from the 18 day minimum, completing your coursework is self-paced. You have six months in total from your date of purchase to complete your courses and obtain your course certificates. The fastest you can complete your coursework is 54 days total (18 days x 3 courses).

If you need more time, you can purchase a course extension for $25 per course, which will let you pick up right where you left off for another 6 months. After you've hit the year mark from the date you enrolled in our program, you will have to re-enroll in the program by paying $25 per course.

I missed my live training session. How can I make up what I missed?

If you missed a session or two, no worries! Live training is purely supplemental to your online coursework. Therefore, you will not be penalized for lack of attendance. To catch up, you can purchase chapter videos as needed for $5 each in your student portal. If you know will be missing classes for an extended period, contact a student advisor at (310)-844-0840 to place your live training on hold.

I mailed my application 2 weeks ago. When will I hear back?

On average, it takes the Department of Real Estate (DRE) 1-2 months to process your application for the state exam. You may check the status of your application on the DRE's website, click here.

You will receive an email from info@usrealtytraining.com with your purchase receipt. You can also find your receipt in your student portal under the "My Orders" tab of your profile.

I do not live in California. Can I enroll in your program?

Yes! As long as you have access to WiFi, you can take the required courses needed to apply for the CA state exam. Once you are approved to take the state exam by the Department of Real Estate (DRE), you must take the exam in person at one of their testing centers. For more information, click here.

At US Realty Training, we offer a few different packages to help you complete the education component for the state exam & license application. All of our pre-licensing packages include access to an online student portal where all of your required coursework is located. The base package starts at $99.00 which includes three course e-Books, chapter quizzes, supplemental PPT slides, one final exam per course, and you can add on our online state exam prep. From there, you can purchase other optional add-ons like in-class training, course videos, and hardcopy textbooks.

Can I view my answers after submitting my chapter quizzes and course exams?

To protect the integrity of our testing, you can not view the answers to your course final exams. You can, however, view the answers to your chapter quizzes once you pass each quiz with a 60% or higher. You can view your previous quiz attempts by going to the "Resources" tab in your Student Portal. From there you will select the "Exam/Quiz Logs" category. This can be a great study stool as you can take note of the correct answers as well as wrong answers.

I do not live in the United States. Can I take your program?

Yes, international students can enroll in our program. In order to be eligible to sit for the state exam, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a Social Security Number or Individual Tax ID Number.‍

How long do the courses take to complete?

The courses are self-paced. You have six months from your date of purchase to complete your courses and obtain your course certificates. Department of Real Estate (DRE) regulations require that you spend a minimum of 54 days in total (18 days per course) to complete the program. How fast can I get my real estate license?

The Department of Real Estate (DRE) requires that you spend a minimum of 54 days (18 days per course) completing Real Estate Practice, Real Estate Principles, and one elective of your choice. This is the absolute quickest time you can complete your coursework. From there, you will apply for the state exam and wait to be approved by the DRE which takes approximately 1-2 months. Once approved, you will schedule your exam date and take the exam.

How does the installment plan work?

Our installment plan applies to the Live Training + Online package only. Utilizing the payment plan adds a $50 administrative fee to your total and breaks the total down into 3 separate installments. You would pay the first installment at the time of enrolling, which includes the administrative fee as well as potential shipping and tax. Exactly 30 days after your first installment, your subsequent payment would be charged automatically. This will occur once more for the third and final installment.

How does the guarantee work?

If you don’t pass your state licensing exam on the first try, you can get a refund on Exam Prep if you: (1) take at least five Salesperson/Broker practice exams in your portal and score 80%+ on each consecutively, (2) complete your last qualifying practice exam within 5 days of your state exam, and (3) submit your paid exam receipt and the state’s failure letter with score breakdown.

Live Crash Course (CA only): In addition to the above, you must take the state exam within 1 month after the crash course to qualify for a partial refund or free re-attendance.

Video Crash Course (CA only): In addition to the Exam Prep terms, you must activate access to the crash-course videos within 2 months of your state exam date to qualify for a partial refund or video access extension

There are many factors to consider when picking a brokerage. Some examples are: the office culture, the level of technical and service support, the quality of their new agent training program, the commission split, and the ongoing career support for existing agents.

How do I know when I'm ready to take the state exam?

You're ready to take and pass the state exam when you can complete at least 5 Salesperson or Broker practice exams - depending on what you're studying for - with a minimum score of 80% or higher on each attempt. The Salesperson and Broker practice exams mimic the format of the actual test. This means you'll have the same amount of questions and time!

How do I get started?

There are two ways to get started with our program:

Order online: Click on the Enroll button at the top righthand corner of our website. From there, you'll select the package you'd like to purchase and the state you are planning to obtain your license in. You'll then submit your contact information, payment details, and create an account to access your student portal. If you plan to obtain your license in multiple states, you can purchase additional states during the checkout process as well. If you need any assistance navigating our Enrollment process, please utilize our Live Chat.

How do I get my broker’s license?

In California, you must be an active real estate agent for two years and complete five additional courses to be eligible to take the broker's state exam. These rules and regulations may not apply if you have a college degree. Please call the Department of Real Estate at (877) 373-4542 for Broker's License eligibility.

How do I apply for the state exam?

You can submit your application online, as long as you completed your coursework within one year from your original start date. If you took longer than a year to obtain your 3 course certificates, you will need to send your application via certified mail. Does your program allow for reasonable accommodations?

Yes! As part of our State Exam Prep, you'll have access to customize your own practice exams. This is where you can select the number of questions you'd like to be tested on along with the amount of time you'll need.

Does California recognize real estate licenses from other states?

Unfortunately, California does not have a reciprocity agreement with any other state.

Yes! We recommend Google Chrome for the best learning experience, but our program works on all browsers. Just make sure you have a reliable internet connection.

Do you update your content frequently?

Yes! Our team is constantly updating our study material based on changes made to each state's licensing exam.

Do you submit my application to the department of real estate (DRE)?

CA Realty Training will not send your application to the Department of Real Estate (DRE) on your behalf. You must fill out your own application and submit it to the DRE online or via mail. We do, however, provide an application tutorial to help you understand the process and what is needed to apply for the state exam! If you are a current student, this video along with a powerpoint presentation is located in your student portal under the "State Exam" tab.

Do you offer a real estate crash course?

Yes! We have a few crash course options. We provide a national video crash course that helps you prepare for the PSI and Pearson Vue exams. This crash course will not fully prepare for the exams in New York, Florida, or California. Those exams are a little bit different.

For California exam takers, we provide an in-person or live webinar crash course. You can add-on videos of our live training crash course to any California package.

Do you help with job placement?

Yes! US Realty Training is an accredited correspondence school with the California Department of Real Estate. We are proudly partnered with Keller Williams Realty and Coldwell Banker, so we can assist you with job placement after passing the state exam! To receive assistance or more information on this process please contact the admissions department at 310-844-0840 Mon - Fri, 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
