To help you prepare for the Kansas real state exam, we included information on how to schedule your exam, the exam’s format, and what you’ll be tested on. Now, all that's left to do is study with the best exam prep in the nation!
The Kansas real estate exams are administered by Pearson VUE. Candidates who wish to schedule an exam can do so by contacting Pearson VUE at the following website. Candidates may also call Pearson VUE at 800-274-4971.
Reservations should be made at least 24 hours prior to the desired exam date.

For candidates who are NOT applying for licensure through requirements met in another state, the requirement is a 30-hour Kansas Real Estate Broker Fundamentals course approved by the Kansas Real Estate Commission within one year immediately prior to passing both the national and state portions of the exam
For candidates who ARE applying for licensure through requirements met in another state, the requirement is a 4-hour Kansas Law Course approved by the Kansas Real Estate Commission within the six months immediately preceding the Commission's receipt of the license application
All candidates must complete a 30-hour Kansas Real Estate Management course approved by the Kansas Real Estate Commission within the six months immediately preceding the Commission's receipt of the license application
Both the salesperson and broker examinations have a national and a state portion. Candidates will have 2.5 hours for the national portion and 1.5 hours for the Kansas-specific portion. The salesperson exam has 80 national questions and 30 state-specific questions. The broker exam has 80 national questions and 40 state-specific questions.
The real estate examinations are given by computer and are multiple choice. They are given at the following locations: Hays, Overland Park, Topeka, Wichita, Emporia, Fort Riley, Garden City, Pittsburg, Salina, and Kansas City, Missouri.
Salesperson Examination: A score of 70 or higher on each portion (national and state) is passing.
Broker Examination: A score of 70 or higher on each portion (national and state) is passing.
All applicants are required to bring the Certificate of Completion of required course work. Additionally, they are required to provide 2 forms of identification. The name on the identification must match the name on the registration. The primary identification must be government-issued and photo-bearing with a signature, and the secondary identification must contain a valid signature.
