Sign up for the required number of CE hours specific to your state’s regulations before your license renewal deadline. Each state mandates different requirements, typically including a mix of mandatory and elective courses to keep you informed about updates in laws, ethics, and industry standards.
CE courses can typically be completed online, in-person, or through live virtual formats, depending on your state’s approved options. Ensure you fulfill both core and elective requirements within the designated timeframe, covering subjects relevant to your practice and state guidelines.
After completing the courses, your education provider will usually report your credits directly to your state’s real estate licensing authority. Be sure to keep your certificates of completion and renew your license through your state’s portal before it expires to stay in compliance.

PENNSYLVANIA REAL ESTATE LICENSE RENEWAL
In Pennsylvania, both salespersons and brokers must complete 14 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years to maintain an active license. This includes:
For the first renewal after obtaining their license, new salespersons are required to complete specific commission-developed modules: a General Module and either a Residential Module or a Commercial Module. This satisfies the 14-hour CE requirement for the first renewal.
All CE hours must be completed by May 31st of every even-numbered year. Failure to meet the requirements by this deadline will result in the license becoming inactive until the CE requirements are fulfilled.
