What to Expect

In Alabama, newly licensed real estate salespersons must complete 30-hour post-licensing education to upgrade from a temporary license to an original (permanent) license. This mandatory training is designed to ensure that new salespersons become proficient in Alabama’s real estate laws, professional standards, and best practices.
Required Post-License Course for Alabama Real Estate Salespersons
- Timeline:
- If you hold an active temporary salesperson license, you must complete the 30-hour course within the first six (6) months of licensure.
- If your license is inactive, you have up to twelve (12) months from the date of licensure to finish the course.
- Consequence of Non-Completion: If you do not fulfill the post-license requirement on time, your temporary license will lapse or remain inactive, preventing you from legally practicing real estate until the requirement is met.
