• All real estate professionals (salespersons, associate brokers, and brokers) in Maryland must complete 15 hours of continuing education every two years.
• Salespersons and Associate Brokers must complete the following courses:
  • 3 hours of Legal and Legislative Update.
  • 3 hours of Ethics.
  • 3 hours of Brokerage Relationships and Disclosures.
  • 1.5 hours of Fair Housing.
  • The remaining 4.5 hours can be elective courses.
• Brokers, Designated Branch Office Managers, and Team Leaders have similar requirements but must also complete an additional 3-hour Supervision course. This makes up their 15 hours with slightly different allocations compared to salespersons.
• For commercial licensees, the Fair Housing course is not required in some cases, and the elective requirements may vary.

All continuing education hours must be completed by the renewal deadline, which is every two years from the date of issuance of the license. If CE requirements are not met by the expiration date, the licensee may be placed on inactive status until all requirements are fulfilled and the license is renewed​.
