Because there are questions with varying degrees of difficulty on each exam, a statistical procedure known as equating is used in grading the exams. This is done to ensure that no candidate is put at an unfair advantage or disadvantage due to the particular questions they receive on the exam. Raw scores are converted into scaled scores that range from 0 to 100. To pass the exam, a candidate must make at least 70% on the exam, although numeric scores are only reported to failing candidates.
All candidates must provide 2 forms of signature identification, one of which must be government-issued and photo-bearing, as well as the Certificate of Examination Eligibility from AREC.
Primary ID (with photograph and signature and must be current) can be any of the following:
- Government-issued driver's license
