What to Expect

In Idaho, newly licensed real estate salespersons must complete 19.5 total hours of required education before their first active license renewal.
This ensures new licensees become proficient in Idaho’s real estate laws, professional standards, and practical transaction skills.
Timeline & Consequence of Non-Completion
- Deadline: All 19.5 hours (Fundamentals + Specialty/Elective + Two Cores) must be completed before your first active license renewal.
- Renewal Cycle: In Idaho, salesperson licenses typically renew every two years. However, newly licensed salespersons have a shorter window for their first renewal, depending on the date of licensure.
- Consequence of Non-Completion: Failure to complete the required hours will prevent your license from renewing on active status. You cannot legally practice real estate if your license goes inactive.
