How Our Broker's Course Works

Yellow line highlighting how the real estate broker's course works

1. Meet the Eligibility Requirements

Before pursuing a real estate broker license, verify that you meet your state's eligibility criteria. This typically includes holding an active real estate salesperson license and accumulating a certain amount of experience, such as two to three years working under a licensed broker.

2. Complete the Required Education

Enroll in and complete the mandatory broker pre-licensing education with our comprehensive courses. Our program is flexible, allowing you to learn at your own pace.

3. Apply for the Broker License Exam

Once you finish your education, apply for the  Broker License exam. We offer detailed assistance and a checklist to ensure you have all necessary documents.

4. Pass the State Broker Examination

After your application is approved, take the state Broker Exam. We provide exam prep tools and resources to help you succeed.

What to Expect

To qualify for a Pennsylvania broker license, you must hold an active real estate salesperson license for at least three years, complete 240 hours of approved real estate education, and pass the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission’s (PREC) broker licensing exam. Many schools offer flexible, self-paced courses to help you fulfill these requirements. After finishing your coursework, you’ll need to pass a final course exam and the state exam (often requiring a minimum score of 75%). Common broker course topics include:

  • PA 30-Hour Real Estate Brokerage and Office Management
  • PA 30-Hour Real Estate Law
  • PA 30-Hour Real Estate Sales
  • PA 30-Hour Real Estate Investments
We recommend Real Estate Finance as we’ve seen it be heavily represented on the state exam, and it’s always good to know basic math as a real estate agent!
  • PA 45-Hour Real Estate Finance
  • PA 15-Hour Fair Housing, Environmental Issues, and Risk Management
  • Pennsylvania Commercial Real Estate Brokerage
  • Pennsylvania Valuation of Residential Properties
