Sign up for the required number of CE hours specific to your state’s regulations before your license renewal deadline. Each state mandates different requirements, typically including a mix of mandatory and elective courses to keep you informed about updates in laws, ethics, and industry standards.
CE courses can typically be completed online, in-person, or through live virtual formats, depending on your state’s approved options. Ensure you fulfill both core and elective requirements within the designated timeframe, covering subjects relevant to your practice and state guidelines.
After completing the courses, your education provider will usually report your credits directly to your state’s real estate licensing authority. Be sure to keep your certificates of completion and renew your license through your state’s portal before it expires to stay in compliance.

COLORADO REAL ESTATE LICENSE RENEWAL
In Colorado, all real estate professionals are licensed as brokers, and there is no separate license for salespersons. Brokers are required to complete 24 hours of continuing education (CE) every three years to maintain an active license. This includes 12 hours of mandatory Annual Commission Update (ACU) courses, with 4 hours required each year.
The remaining 12 hours can be fulfilled through elective courses approved by the Colorado Division of Real Estate. Courses can be taken online, in-person, or virtually, and once completed, the credits are submitted to the Division before the license renewal deadline.
