Indiana's real estate examinations are administered by Pearson VUE. Applicants can schedule and pay for an exam by going to the following website. The exam may also be scheduled by calling Pearson VUE at 1-317-234-3022.

Current processing time: Processing times for an Indiana real estate license are roughly 4-6 weeks.

Broker Exam

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and:
• Submit a completed application online at MyLicense.IN.gov or by mail
• Must pay application fee of $53
• Must submit documentation of 90 hours of pre-license education completion; must be dated within one year of the exam date
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent 
• Must provide Social Security number 
• Must complete a background check
• Must be sponsored by an actively licensed real estate managing broker
• Must pay license fee of $60

Broker Examination: There are two portions to the broker exam. There is a national portion which consists of 75 multiple-choice items and candidates will have 150 minutes to complete that portion. There is also a state portion, which consists of 50 multiple-choice items. Candidates will have 90 minutes to complete that portion.

The exam will be given by computer.

The exam is given at the following locations: Anderson, Avon, Columbus, East Chicago, Evansville, Fishers, Fort Wayne, Goshen, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Lafayette, Lawrenceburg, Madison, Merrillville, Muncie, Richmond, South Bend, Terre Haute, Valparaiso, and Warsaw.

The passing score for the Indiana Real Estate exam is 75% on both the national and state sections.

All applicants must bring two forms of identification. One must be a valid form of government-issued identification which bears the applicant's signature and photograph. It must be current and unexpired. That can include any of the following:

• Driver's license
• State ID
• Passport
• US Military ID
• US Government-issued Alien Registration card

The second form of ID must have the applicant's signature and preprinted legal name. The name must match that on the applicant's registration and primary form of ID.  This can be any of the following:

• Credit card (signed)
• Debit card (signed)
• Wholesale store card (signed)
