Arizona Real Estate Exam FAQs
To help you prepare for the Arizona real state exam, we included information on how to schedule your exam, the exam’s format, and what you’ll be tested on. Now, all that's left to do is study with the best exam prep in the nation!
Applicants can schedule their exam by calling a specific testing center or online.
Current Processing Timeframes: The Arizona Department of Real Estate typically takes approximately 2-4 weeks to process license applications.
Salesperson Exam
- An applicant must submit a complete application, which will be provided by Pearson VUE after passing the license examination, as well as:
- Submit Arizona State Exam Score Report
- Submit Pre-licensure Education Certificate (90hours)
- Provide proof of having completed the Contract Writing Course Certificate (6 hours)
- Proof of legal residence in the US
- Proof of being at least 18 years of age
- DPS issued Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business offers fingerprint kits at the following website.
- Disclosure documentation (for applicants with convictions, adverse judgments, or disciplinary actions)
- Pay examination fee of $75
Broker Exam
- An applicant must submit a completed application, which will be provided by Pearson VUE after passing the license examination, as well as:

- Provide proof of having completed Broker Management Clinic Certificates (9 hours)
- Provide proof of legal residence in the US
- Provide proof of being at least 18years of age
- DPS issued Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card; the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business offers fingerprint kits at the following website.
- Disclosure documentation (for applicants with convictions, adverse judgments, or disciplinary actions)
- Pay examination fee of $125
- Broker Candidate Experience Verification form LI-226 (proof of 3 years full-time experience as a salesperson or broker during the immediate 5 years prior to application)
- Hire as Arizona Designated Broker (Entity/Broker Status Change from LI-216)
Salesperson Examination: The exam consists of 180 multiple choice questions and must be completed in 300 minutes.
Broker Examination: The exam consists of 180 multiple choice questions and must be completed in 315 minutes.
Exams are given in Flagstaff, Phoenix, Yuma, and Tucson and are by appointment only. The exam is given by computer.

Salesperson Examination: You must correctly answer at least 75% of the questions to pass. That means at least 135 of the 180 multiple choice questions.
Broker Examination: You must correctly answer at least 75% of the questions to pass. That means at least 135 of the 180 multiple choice questions.
Since the exam is qualifying in nature, examinees who pass are not informed of their final score. You will be notified of the actual score, and the percentage of questions answered correctly in each of the subject areas, only when unsuccessful.
Applicants are required to bring the following: provide two forms of identification, one of which must be government-issued and photo-bearing, and the other must include a valid signature. These can be a:
